Get in[ edit ] Most visitors can get into Costa Rica without the need of a Visa and can stay in the country for 90 days. Costa Rica requires Indian citizens to be in possession of a valid visa when they arrive. The only conditions being that the visa must be valid for 3 months and should be stamped in your passport. See below for further details Costa Rica requires valid Yellow fever certificate if arriving from most neighbouring countries. At Bogota airport – if you have certificate you can have it emailed to the airline and then proceed to the local vaccination authority for duplicate certificate to be issued free of charge. The critical part is to get the printed version on time. If you don’t have certificate or cannot get it on time you will probably be approached by friendly police officers to arrange such for a fee. Keep in mind that the date of the vaccination should be at least 10 days prior entering the country from which you are flying. Another way to get to Costa Rica that many people are unaware of is travelling by car and driving the Pan-American highway that stretches from Alaska all the way to Southern Panama and passes right through Costa Rica. All passengers have to leave the car with their luggage and pass it through a scanner, the car and driver goes through a different scanner, you line up for passport control, fill in several forms for the car, find an official who stamps and signs every form etc.

The room glittered with crystal and silver, pineapples, lobsters and champagne. And the smart talk – what a row! One side of the room was a semi-circle of colonnaded windows through which jewelled figures slid out to the candlelit terrace and the beating of a band. I gave up toying with my truffles and let my gaze move across the breathless midnight Mediterranean lit up with yachts and beyond, way beyond, to the lights of Africa.

Max was leaning over me and looking downwards.

Despair swept through me like a dry wind.

Nerja, a beautiful town on Malaga’s eastern tip, with excellent beaches, water sports and fascinating caves. Nerja’s Feria Flanked by a dramatic mountain range, Sierra Almijara, to the east, the town has, fortunately, managed to avoid being blighted by the concrete high-rise scenario which has been the inevitable result of the tourist boom in some of the coastal resorts.

My behaviour of course only made them more curious.

The attraction as a tourist resort lies in its closeness to Alicante airport and its miles of golden sandy beaches combined with the tremendous climate of the Costa Blanca. Santa Pola is a working town that is busy in the winter unlike many small tourist resorts that practically become ghost towns. The AP-7 autoroute motorway comes down from Alicante airport which is only 15 minutes drive away and goes south to Murcia San Javier airport.

Once at the airport you have a range of different airport transfer options to Santa Pola including private shuttle buses, taxis or Santa Pola car hire. Also the N goes right past the outskirts of Santa Pola and this also goes from Alicante airport in the north all the way down to Murcia San Javier airport to the south. To the north of Santa Pola is Alicante. Are you an expat in Santa Pola? Let us know in the comments box at the bottom of the page.

Until I found out that often when people are burgled in Spain they are bound and gagged. The luckier ones are gassed. Even houses with dogs — and have you noticed how many people have big dogs — yeah now I get it — get hit because they poison the dogs. Trouble is Spain is very close to some very poor African countries and there are lots of poor immigrants, mostly illegal, who will do anything to survive.

Living and Working in Spain I moved to Spain for a better life. I figured that with so many expats living in Spain that there must be a bundle of potential new business opportunities or companies looking for staff.

Its highest peak is La Maroma, at 2, m.

Due to the proximity of the mountains to the coast, the city has a large gap between its north and south sides, thus providing views of the sea and mountain vistas from almost every part of the city. The coastline is heavily urbanised; most of the land not built up with golf courses has been developed with small residential areas.

The Mediterranean Sea lies to the south. Topography[ edit ] Dunes of Artola, the Sierra Blanca in the background There are five geomorphological units: This mountain range has three peaks: La Concha, located further west at 1, m above sea level, Juanar Cross, located eastward within the municipality of Ojen at 1, m above sea level, and the highest, Mount Lastonar, located between the two at 1, metres.

Marbella’s topography is characterised by extensive coastal plains formed from eroded mountains. The coast is generally low and sandy beaches that are more extensive further east, between the fishing port and the Cabopino. Despite the intense urbanisation of the coast, it still retains a natural area of dunes, the Artola Dunes Dunas de Artola , at the eastern end of town.

The rivers are short and have very steep banks, so that flash floods are common. The irregularity of rainfall has resulted in intermittent rivers that often run dry in summer; most of the many streams that cross the city have been bridged. The highest peaks of the mountains are occasionally covered with snow, which usually melts in a day or two.

Malaga is a charismatic and cosmopolitan city by the coast. One with great beaches, pumping nightlife, and some of Spain’s most popular southern resorts and towns right on its doorstep. The country’s fifth largest city is also one with a rich history of Roman, Islamic and Spanish cultures spanning 2, years, each of which have left their mark on this architecturally eclectic place. But the real reason people come to Malaga is because it’s a great place to holiday by the sea with activities to suit all – one of our favourite places to experience this culture is El Palo beach.

And with average year round temperatures of 20 degrees and days of sunshine a year, it’s not difficult to see why. Malaga is a magnet for millions of tourists each year, and at easyJet holidays we know a thing or two about holidays.
